Prince George’s Film Festival Opens Call for Films for Fifth Annual Edition
Largo, MD – December 10, 2025
The Prince George’s Film Festival (PGFF), presented by the Prince George’s Arts and Humanities Council and the Prince George’s Film Office, has officially opened its Call for Films for the fifth annual festival, PGFF – Take Five, taking place September 25–26, 2026 in Prince George’s County, Maryland.
Now entering its fifth year, the Prince George’s Film Festival continues to celebrate bold storytelling and elevate filmmakers whose work reflects the diverse perspectives and creative energy shaping today’s film landscape. The festival has quickly become one of the region’s most dynamic platforms for independent filmmakers, bringing together artists, industry professionals, and audiences for an inspiring showcase of cinema.

This year, the festival is accepting entries in the following categories:
Narrative Shorts – Original works 35 minutes or shorter in the genres of Action, Horror, Thriller, Comedy, Drama, or Sci-Fi
Student Films – Original works created independently or for credit by student filmmakers in Action, Horror, Thriller, Comedy, Drama, Sci-Fi, or Documentary
Filmmakers selected for the festival will have the opportunity to screen their work for new audiences, connect with fellow creatives, and participate in discussions and programming designed to support the growth of the independent film community.
In addition to film screenings, PGFF – Take Five will feature a range of programming including filmmaker panels, workshops, networking opportunities, and community engagement events that celebrate the art of storytelling through film.
“In just a few short years, the Prince George’s Film Festival has grown into an important platform for emerging voices and visionary filmmakers,” said Donna Foster-Dotson, General Manager of the Prince George’s Film Office and Director of PGFF. “We look forward to discovering the powerful stories that will take the stage for our fifth anniversary edition.”
